Otis Stanley Smith was born on August 20, 1921, in Scottsville, Fluvanna County, Virginia; he was the son of Ashley S. Smith and Annie Lee (Johnson) Smith.  Otis married Lena Mae Thompson on October 21, 1940, in Scottsville, Virginia; they were divorced on October 8, 1973, in Fluvanna County, Virginia.  Otis married secondly Mary Catherine Deavers on October 18, 1975, in Page County, Virginia.  Otis passed away on August 19, 1985, in Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Virginia, and he is buried at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Scottsville, Virginia.
