James Frank Bruce was born on December 4, 1922, in Esmont, Albemarle County, Virginia; he was the son of Alonzo Bruce (1893-1946) and Martha (Fortune) Bruce (1897-1961) of Esmont, Virginia.  James married Martha McLene Mills on January 9, 1942, in Charlottesville, Virginia.  James passed away on October 27, 1951, in Albemarle County, Virginia; his death was the result of injury incurred in a car accident.  James is buried at the New Green Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Esmont, Virginia.
