James A. Brown was born on May 26, 1917, in Albemarle County, Virginia; he was the son of Edward Charles Brown and Ada (Feggans) Brown.  James enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 26, 1945, and died on January 26, 1945 in New York where he was stationed with the 246 QM Battalion.  James is buried at the New Green Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Esmont, VA.
