Herman Lee Scott was born on June 19, 1918, in Slate River, Buckingham County, Virginia; he was the son of Robert A. Scott and Martha (Adcock) Scott.  In the 1930 U.S. Federal census, Herman was living with his parents and siblings just west of Scottsville, Virginia, near Warren.  Herman enlisted in the Army on July 21 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland.  After WWII, Herman married Mary Kaye Osborne on June 29, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia.  Herman passed away on January 2, 1975, and is buried in the Scottsville Cemetery, Scottsville, Virginia.
