Frank Walter Shumaker was born on Jan 9, 1923, in Buckingham County, Virginia; he was the son of Harrison White Shumaker (1893-1966) and Alice L. Jamerson (1897-1966).  After his discharge from the Navy in 1946, Frank married Ruth Mae Johnson on 22 October 1946, in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Ruth is the daughter of Charles B. Johnson and Ruth Allen Johnson of Scottsville, Virginia.  Frank passed away on July 16, 1990, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and is buried at Scottsville Cemetery.
