Ernest Haven O'Brien was born on May 6, 1926, in Fluvanna County, Virginia; he was the son of Ernest Franklin O'Brien (1900-1960) and Lottie Jane (Pippin) O'Brien (1903-1986).  During his WWII service, Ernest was awarded a WW II Victory Medal and an Army Occupation Medal.  In 1949, Ernest enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in which he served until late 1952 and was discharged as a S/SGT.  Ernest married Mattie Elizabeth Taylor on April 14, 1951, in Scottsville, Albemarle County, Virginia.  Ernest was severely injured in a traffic accident in Goochland County, Virginia, and passed away on April 3, 1960.  He is buried at Scottsville Cemetery in Scottsville, Virginia.
