Charles Tucker Ragland was born on March 30, 1922, in Buckingham County, Virginia; he was the son of Charles Lightford Ragland (1890-) and Leila Belle (Poe) Ragland (1894-1980) of the Slate River area of Buckingham County.  Charles married Evelyn Beatrice (Brown) Burgess in Albemarle County, Virginia, on May 8, 1963.  Charles worked as a carpenter in general construction with his home in Howardsville, Virginia.  Charles passed away in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 31, 1973, and he is buried at Scottsville Cemetery, Scottsville, Virginia.
