Andrew Harrison Snead was born on September 26, 1924, in Schuyler, Nelson County, Virginia; he was the son of Frank Lee Snead (1892-1964) and Pearl Ann (Carroll) Snead (1898-1980).  In the 1930-1940 U.S. Federal Censuses, Andrew was living with his parents and siblings in Schuyler.  When Andrew filed his U.S. WWII Draft Card in 1942, he listed his employer as the Alberene Stone Corporation of Virginia in Schuyler.  Andrew enrolled in the U.S. Army after he turned 18 years of age in Fall 1942.  After WWII, Andrew returned to Schuyler and his work in the soapstone company.  Andrew married Susie Mae Via on May 31, 1952, in Scottsville, Albemarle County, Virginia.  On August 12, 1981, Andrew passed away in Schuyler, and he is buried in Scottsville Cemetery, Scottsville.
